10 –12 cps popped corn
1 ½ cps white sugar
1 ½ cps brown sugar
½ cp water
¼ tsp cream of tartar
2 cubes butter
1 cp dark Karo syrup
* 1 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Put all the popcorn in a very large bowl.

Put the water in a good sized saucepan (when this is boiling it will expand a LOT), stir in the sugar till it dissolves – add the Karo syrup, cream of tartar. Cook to soft ball stage (235* on a candy thermometer) If you don’t have a candy thermometer this will boil at about 200*, boil for about 9 minutes.

Remove from heat and add the * baking soda, stir and pour over the popcorn. If you want popcorn balls form them while it’s still hot.
