Taco - Terrific Tacos Recipe

Ingredients: 1 lb hamburger
1 pkt Taco seasoning (I like Schilling low sodium best)
1 can diced tomatoes, do not drain
1 can black beans (you could use pinto beans)
1 box Ortega Whole Grain Taco Shells - not all stores have these but they are amazing! They have a great flavor like no other taco shell I've ever had.
Sour Cream
Shredded Cheese
Your favorite salsa
Shredded lettuce

Directions:Brown the hamburger in a frying pan and drain off the fat. While that's cooking put the beans in a strainer and run water over them till you rinse off all the yukky liquid that was in the can with them. Let them sit to drain off the water a bit.
Add the whole can of tomatoes, juice and all to the hamburger. Stir in the taco seasoning as well. Now add the beans and stir it all together. Let it heat 5-10 min so everything is nice and hot.
To assemble; Spoon a bit of sour cream into the taco shell and gently smear it across one side of the shell. Spoon the meat into the bottom of the shell. Top with cheese, salsa and lettuce in whatever order you prefer and enjoy. |

Notes: If you like sour cream smear it across one side of the shell before you add anything else. That way you get a bit of sour cream in every bite of the taco.
These Ortega shells really are delicious! Far better than regular crisp taco shells.
