1/3 C lukewarm water
1 pkg dry yeast
1 1/4 C flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp shortening (or vegetable oil)

(For double recipe, don't double yeast.)

Mix to dissolve yeast and salt in water. Add oil, then flour, until good dough consistency.
