2 tbls. oil
2 lbs. beef chuck
1 large onion, sliced
1 clove garlic
4 cups boiling water
1 tbls. salt
1 tbls. lemon juice
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp.lemon juice
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1 or 2 Bay leaves
dash allspice or cloves
6 carrots, cut
1 lb. small white onions
6 med. potatoes, diced
1/2 cup cold water
1/4 cup flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil, add beef chunks, brown on all sides slow.
Add sliced onion and garlic, boiling water, salt, lemon juice, sugar, worcestershire sauce, pepper, paprika, bay leaf and all spice or cloves.
Cover and simmer 2 hours.
Add vegetables and simmer 30 minutes longer.
Remove garlic and bay leaf.
Pour cold water into shaker then add flour.
Shake hard to blend.
Pour into stew and cook neil thickened. 5 minutes.
