2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup sweet milk
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 eggs
pinch salt
4 teaspoons cram of tartar
enough flour to roll (about 6 cups)
Filling:
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 cups ground raisins
2 cups water
2 T flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cook filling until thick. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Cool. In the meantime, make dough. Roll out 1/4 inch thick. Cut into circles. Fill each with raisin filling. Cover with another circle of dough. Seal edges. Bake 350º' 12-15 minutes. Makes about 3 1/2 dozen. Best if stored in tin.
