Batter:
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
4 egg yolks
1/4 c. milk
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
vanilla

Pie filling:
2 1/2 c. blueberries (or raspberries or cherries), rinsed
1 c. juice
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. tapioca

Topping:
5 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
dash of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Batter: Mix all ingredients together and spread in greased 9x13 pan.

Pie filling: Combine all ingredients. Pour over batter.

Topping: Beat egg whites, salt, and sugar until stiff. Spread over pie filling. Sprinkle nuts over everything, if using.

Bake 35-40 minutes.
