1 1/3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. pecans, chopped fine

Topping:
2 eggs, beaten until foamy
3/4 c. dark corn syrup
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Sift together flour and baking powder. Blend butter and brown sugar together, creaming well. Add dry ingredients and mix with electric mixer until mixture resembles coarse meal.

Stir in pecans and mix well. Pat firmly into bottom of well-greased 8x11" pan and bake 10 minutes.

When done, combine topping ingredients and pour over partially baked bars. If desired, sprinkle with up to 3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans. Bake 25 minutes.

Allow to cool in pan. Cut into bars to serve. Store in tightly covered container.
