Directions:
In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, then vanilla and anise seeds or anise extract. When well-mixed, add the chopped walnuts. Form into 2 to 3 logs and pat them down to about 1 inch high on parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 30 minutes. Let them sit for about 10 minutes and then cut with a serrated knife into 3/4-inch slices.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
A sales representative I knew woke up one day and decided he wanted to learn how to bake. He developed quite a passion for it. After many months, this was one of the recipes he created and loved to bake. He also liked to frost them with a powdered sugar and water frosting, adding sprinkles on the top for special occasions. When Bob retired, he continued to bake and last I heard, he wrote his own self-published cookbook!
