2 C cornmeal
2 C flour (maybe 1 ¾)
3 t baking powder
2-3 eggs slightly beaten
Salt
½ C sugar
½ C oil or drippings (can use Crisco)
2 C Milk (+ or - to make the correct consistency)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 425º Place oil or drippings in pan and heat in oven. Spread around the pan, up the sides etc.

Mix all dry ingredients. Add eggs and milk. Pour hot oil from pan into mixture. Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 425º about 30 minutes, until golden brown and firm to touch.
