"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Directions:
Preheat oven 350. In small mixing bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt. In large bowl, cream together butter sugars, 3/4 C peanut butter, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually add dry ingredients, just until mixed. Then stir in oats. Spread onto a greased 11x15 cookie sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes.
Frosting is a 2 step process. First whip the remaining 3/4 C. PB until lighter colored and fluffy. Carefully spread the whipped PB over the pan cookie.
Then, melt butter in small sauce pan. Add the milk and cocoa. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Heat just until boiling. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Then gradually add the powdered sugar. Stir until thickened. Pour over the peanut butter layer, and gently spread. Cool completely and slice into bars
