1/2 cup butter, softene
1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. sugar, divided
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. In a small bowl, combine cinnamon and remaining sugar. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll in cinnamon sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375º for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
