Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 loaves dry white bread
A few slices dry cornbread (enough for 2-3 c.)
10 eggs
1 raw potato, ground up
3 large onions ground up and sautéed
As much celery as you like, cut up small
2 apples, chopped up
Gizzards and livers (if you like them), chopped up
A handful of oatmeal
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Soak the bread and cornbread in enough milk to cover. Let it absorb all the milk before using. Add the rest of the ingredients to the wet bread. Cook on stovetop in large pot until all is set. You'll need to stir it a lot so it won't stick and burn.

MAKE THE DRESSING THE DAY BEFORE YOU WANT TO USE IT!

Stuff turkey -- this is enough dressing to stuff AND surround a large turkey ("at least a 19-pounder," according to Granny). OR, this can fill several pans and be baked in oven. To give it a "stuffed turkey taste" pour some of the turkey drippings over the dressing before cooking.

Personal Notes:
Granny always made this dressing -- my favorite -- and I got her to dictate the recipe to me. This is good, but it's not as good as hers always was. And she didn't give any temperature or cooking time if you opt to cook the dressing in pans. I'd guess about 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.
