3 egg yolks
1 T. flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 large can evaporated milk
1 stick butter or margarine
1/4 c. chopped pecans
1 c. cocoanut
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg yolks, set aside.

Mix flour, sugar and salt, then stir into the milk. Add butter and cook over low heat until butter is melted. Pour small amount into egg yolks (to "temper" them and keep them from becoming scrambled eggs!). Beat and add to milk mixture. Add pecans and cocoanut.

Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

Spread between layers of cake and cover entire cake.
