Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 cups corn chex
6 3/4 cups Golden Grahams cereal
2 cups coconut
1 cup sliced almonds
1 cup sugar
1 cup corn syrup
3/4 cup margarine or butter
1 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine chex, golden grahams, coconut, almonds, and chocolate chips in a LARGE bowl.

2. Combine sugar, corn syrup, and margarine or butter in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil 3-5 minutes.

3. Pour syrup over dry ingredients. Mix well. Spread on cookie sheets to cool.

Variation 1: Leave out chocolate chips.
Variation 2: Instead of mixing chocolate chips in the dry ingredients, you can melt it and drizzle it over the cooling chex mix once it is spread out. This looks fancy.
Variation 3: Toast coconut first! (So yummy). Spread it on a jelly roll pan and roast it in a 350 F oven for about 7 minutes. Watch it closely and shake the pan often. It burns easily.
Variation 4: Sprinkle salt (larger grained is better) over the finished product. Yum.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
A family in our neighborhood used to make this chex mix for Christmas presents when I was really young. It was kind of a "secret recipe" until they moved away and we got the recipe! We added the chocolate. It's been one of our favorite treats since then.
