1 quart whole tart cherries
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/5 whisky

After 6 months:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 qt light Port Wine

Directions:
Directions:
Put ingredients in a gallon jar and shake until sugar is dissolved. Shake every day for a week. Leave in refrigerator for 6 months. Drain liquid and bottle. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar and port wine. Shake to dissolve sugar. Shake every day for a week. Leave in refrigerator for another 6 months. Drain liquid and bottle. Serve cherries as appetizers or over ice cream.
