2 1/2 tbsp dark brown sugar
2 tbsp paprika
2 tsp dry mustard
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic salt
1 1/2 tsp dried basil
3/4 tsp ground coriander
3/4 tsp ground thyme
1 1/2 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp cumin
salt

Directions:
Mix and apply to brisket after the mustard. After you apply the Rub to the brisket wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. More to follow.

I originally received a variation of this recipe from Ricky Bazan who was a fabulous chef and worked for the Goode Company BBQ restaurant in Houston, TX. Ricky gave me a complete tour of his restaurant's operation but also sneaked to me the magic of making Texas BBQ. I have modified this recipe a bit but it is very close to how Ricky used to make it.
