1 3/4 c. shortening
2 tsp. salt
2 c. white sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 pkg. chocolate chips
4 eggs, well beaten
4 tsp. vanilla
4 3/4 c. sifted flour
nuts (opt.)
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening. Add sugar; cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs; mix thoroughly. Sift flour once and measure. Add salt and baking soda; sift together. Add flour in 2 parts. Mix well. Add chocolate chips, nuts, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Drop from teaspoon on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375º until golden brown.
