1/2c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 1/4 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
4 egg whites
1/2 c. sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter with 1 c. sugar until mixture is like whipped cream. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately with water. Beat egg whites and add remaining 1/2 c. sugar and add to cake. Add vanilla. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes in two layers.
