Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup chile sauce (Heinz - without green peppers)

1/2 tsp dry mustard (Keene's - yellow container)

1 tbsp brown sugar

2 tbsp vinegar (white)

1/4 cup veg oil (I use less)

Meatballs
1 lb lean ground beef

1 egg beaten

breadcrumbs (enough to bind mixture, about 1/3 cup usually works)

1 tbsp dried onion flakes

1 tbsp dried parsley

garlic salt or fresh garlic to taste

1 tsp salt

fresh ground black pepper to taste

Worchestershire sauce - several generous dashes to taste

Directions:
Mix meatball ingredients all together, form meatballs

- Bake at 350F for about 30 min (line baking sheet with foil for easier cleanup)

- Mix sauce ingredients in a large saucepan, add cooked meatballs, heat through before serving

* Whenever I do these (as appetizer for a crowd) I double the sauce recipe and 3X the meatball recipe. For really large gatherings, I've made 6 lbs of hamburger to 4X the sauce.

** You could make a mixture of 1/3 lean ground pork to 2/3 lean ground beef.

*** Sometimes add some parmesan cheese, basil & oregano to meatball mix for a change.

Personal Notes:
This is a classic meatball dish that we grew up with--eating these every Christmas at Aunt Michi's place. These are a simple, quick and delicious appetizer.
