1 1/2 cup Boiling water
1 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 1/2 flour
1 Tbl. Cinnamon
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Toppong:
1 cup coconut
1 cup nuts
6 Tbl melted Butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup Milk
1 tsp. vanilla

For Cake:

Mix oats and boiling water. Cool and add shortening, sugar, eggs and mix well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Place in Greased 9x13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

For Topping:

Mix well; spread on hot cake. Broil under Broiler until bubbly.
