1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sweet paprika
3 T. black pepper
3 T. coarse salt
1 T. hickory smoked salt
2 tea. garlic powder
2 tea. onion powder
2 tsp. celery seeds
1 tsp. cayenne pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl mix all ingredients with a fork or with your hands.
Using your hands helps to break up the small pieces.
I store the rub in glass canning jar. This rub will keep for 6 months.

This recipe is near and dear to my heart. Dad found this recipe and made it before he was sick. Mom and dad would use this rub on the big chickens we would bring them from Iowa.
