1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine, softened
1 cup all purpose flour
5 Tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl mix together the flour, sugar and salt. Add the butter and vanilla and mix until the dough comes together.

Form heaping tablespoons into balls and place on cookie sheets. Flatten with the bottom of a glass that has been moistened and dipped into sugar.

Bake for around ten minutes or until cookies are set and beginning to brown around the edges.
