1 1/2 cup warm water (90 degrees) 2 Tbs sugar 1 Tbs yeast more than i1 packet 1 Tbs salt 2 Tbs soft butter 4-5 cups flour 3 Tbs melted butter, divided 1 tsp sea salt or coarse kosher salt 1 tsp garlic powder

1. Place warm water, sugar, and yeast into bowl. Let stand 10 minutes until thick and frothy. Mix briefly, then add salt, butter,and gradually add 2 cups of flour, mixing well for two minutes. Slowly add 2 cups more flour, more if necessary to get a dough that begins to clump and knead the dough.
2. Cover tightly with plastic wrap, let rise i hour until doubled in size.
3. Lightly sprinkle work surface and hands with flour onto surface. Cut dough in half and roll each half into a log shape, cut eachlog into 8 equally sized ropes and 1 inch thick. Place on cookie sheets lined with parchment leaving about 2 inches between each bread stick.
4. Cover again with plastic let rise warm 20 minutes.
5. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Meanwhile melt butter, and just before baking, brush bread sticks with butter, sprinkle with sea salt. Bake 15 minutes or just brown.
^. Addb garlic powder to remaining butter and brush bread sticks after baking. Serve warm or with marinara sauce for dipping.
