Press potatoes into the bottom of an ungreased 9 inch pie plate or a 13X9 glass pan.
Drizzle melted butter over the potatoes. Bake in a preheated 425 degree oven for 20 min or until lightly browned.
Remove and let cool for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle cheese and meat over the potatoes.
In a med bowl, mix egg, milk, salt and pepper.
Pour this over the potato, ham and cheese in pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 min in a preheat 350 degree oven. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

1/3 cup melted margarine
1 cup chopped ham or crumbled bacon or sasuage
4 oz cheddar cheese, grated
2 large eggs, beaten well and set aside.
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
