Butterscotch Mixture:
1/4 cup shortening
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup corn syrup
Buns:
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup milk
1/2 cup raisins, soaked in water and drained
1/4 nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º.
Butterscotch Mixture:
Cream together the shortening, brown sugar and corn syrup.
Drop 1/4 tsp full of this mixture in the bottom of an oiled muffin pan.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in 1/4 cup of shortening until the mixture is crumbly. Add the milk all at once, stirring lightly. Turn the mixture on a well floured board. Gather the batter into a ball. Knead lightly for 20 counts. Roll in an oblong
8 x 12 inches. Spread with the remainder of the butterscotch mixture.
Sprinkle with raisins and nuts. Roll up as for a jelly roll. Cut in 3/4" thick pieces.
Place cut side down in muffin pan.
Bake in 350º oven until done.
