Mix:
4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup lard
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 milk mixed with 1/2 cup water
Add:
1 tsp soda
2 tsp cream of tartar

Filling:
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour

Buns:
Mix first 7 ingredients well, stir in soda and cream of tartar. Roll out dough and spread with the following filling.

For Filling beat all filling ingredients, spread on bun dough. Roll up as a jelly roll and slice. Place on a greased cookie sheet, do not put too close together, bake at 400 degrees until brown enough to suit.
