1 lb salt cod "freshened"
2 c milk
3 T flour
2T butter
pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cod overnight in the fridge. Rinse and cover with water and boil until it flakes. Drain set aside

In a sauce pan heat milk,blend a little milk with flour to make a thin paste. Stir into milk ,add butter and pepper.
Add cod and serve over baked potatoes

Mom served this to us as kids. Many recipes say to serve over boiled potatoes. With this recipe we had the delicious buttered potato skins to eat too. It's hard to find dried salt cod these days but can be ordered online. Mine was shipped from Portugal. A New England treat.
