2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp salt
4 T (heaping) cocoa
2 sticks butter
1 c. boiling water
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 beaten eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla

Frosting:
3/4 c. butter
4 T. (heaping) cocoa
6 T. milk
1 lb (minus 1/2 c.) powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar & salt.
In a saucepan, melt butter, add cocoa & stir together
Add boiling water, allow mixture to boil for 30 seconds, then turn off heat. Pour over flour mixture, stir lightly to cool.
In small bowl pour buttermilk and beaten eggs, baking soda & vanilla. Stir buttermilk mixture into butter/chocolate mixture.
Pour into prepared (spray oil) 18x13 sheet cake pan (or close to that size) & bake for 20 minutes ( test middle & check edges)
While cake is baking, make icing. Melt butter in saucepan. Add cocoa, stir to combine, then turn off heat.
Pour cocoa mixture over powdered sugar, add vanilla & add milk to desired consistency. Pour over warm cake

I made 3 of these & 3 of the lemon cake to feed the hordes that came to the house for a reunion & before Josh left. They were great to satisfy the snack cravings & I warn you not to make them if you are trying to lose weight:)-
