Mix 2 cps boiling water with 5 tsps. baking soda. Set aside to cool.

3 cps AllBran cereal
3 cps bran flakes
5 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt

2 cubes softened butter or margarine
2 cps sugar
4 eggs
1 quart buttermilk
cooled soda water
2 to 3 cups raisins

Directions:

Set soda water aside to cool.
(Batter must be refrigerated for 12 hours before using.)

Combine dry ingredients in a 6 quart bowl with a lid. (I use a pan lid.)

In a separate bowl, combine butter, sugar, and eggs with mixer as if for cake.
Stir in buttermilk and soda water.

Add to dry ingredients, Add raisins. Stir until very well blended. Then stir some more to get flour from the bottom of the bowl

Cover and refrigerate for 12 hours before using. Do not stir again as you use them.

BAKE
oven 350 20 to 25 minutes
Prepare muffin tins with cooking spray. Fill 2/3 to 3/4. They don't raise much.

Bake fresh muffins up to 6 weeks from this batter. I promise!
