Banana Split Lasagna Dessert Recipe

9 x 11 inch rectangular, or equivalent, baking dish or pan
Plastic sandwich bag, large size, for piping cheese mixture

Crust - 1st layer
2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick butter or margarine

Cream Cheese Layer
1 8 oz brick of regular Philadelphia cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup CoolWhip (divided use, 1 cup now, 1 cup later)

Pudding and Filling Layers
1 box chocolate instant pudding
1 box banana instant pudding
1 box french vanilla instant pudding
5 1/4 cups cold milk
Bananas (usually takes 3 medium)
1 cup chopped pecans
1 jar maraschino cherries, remove stems, roughly chopped


Topping Layer
Remaining CoolWhip

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Bottom Layer:
Mix together graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/2 cup regular granulated sugar. Press firmly and evenly into a 9x11 or equivalent pan. Bake at 350º for 10-15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Cream Cheese Layer
Beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1 cup of the CoolWhip until fluffy and thoroughly combined. Pipe onto cooled graham crumb layer to cover completely. The crumb layer is delicate, hence the piping for the cream cheese layer.

Chocolate Pudding Layer
Whisk box of instant chocolate pudding mix with 1 3/4 cups of cold milk for two minutes. Let sit two minutes, then spread evenly over cream cheese mixture.

Banana Layer
Slice ripe bananas and place a layer of banana slices evenly over chocolate pudding layer.

Banana Pudding Layer
Whisk box of banana instant pudding with 1 3/4 cups cold milk for two minutes. Let stand 2 minutes. Spread evenly over sliced banana layer to fully cover all bananas.

Pecan Layer
Spread chopped pecans evenly over banana pudding layer.

French Vanilla Pudding Layer
Whisk box of instant french vanilla pudding mix with 1 3/4 cups cold milk for two minutes. Let stand for two minutes. Spread evenly over pecan layer.

Refrigerate composed lasagna for 30 minutes, or until pudding sets.

Last Steps
Drain and chop maraschino cherries (stems removed) and spread over vanilla layer of pudding. Cover all with remaining CoolWhip. Cover entire lasagna with Saran Wrap or cling film and refrigerate until needed.

If desired, drizzle top of lasagna with chocolate syrup.

Layers of prepared sundae toppings (strawberry, pineapple, peanutbutter, marshmallow topping, caramel, etc.), fresh fruits, cookie crumbles, candy or candybar crumbles, or nuts, can be added or substituted as desired.
