4 Sunshine shredded wheat biscuits, crumbled
4 large tart apples
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter or margarine softened
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts

Peel and slice apples. Combine in buttered 8" baking dish with half of the crumbled biscuits
In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients, mixing until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples and bake at 375 º for 30 minutes, until apples are tender and top is lightly browned. If desired, garnish with whipped cream and sprinkle with additional shredded wheat.

Tip for softening butter or margarine. Place amount of butter needed on a small plate. Take a glass and run it under hot water. Place glass upside down over butter. It will soften withou melting all the way.
