"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
As bridesmaids at Sarah Holmsten's wedding, Maria and Kaitlin shared this "Cabin Toast":

As Cabin Cousins we have shared much more than just a cabin together. Lake Kandiyohi has been the place of hours of laughter, long conversations, swimming, skiing, tube wars, FABULOUS FOOD, fishing, Mr. Freezies, Johnny Appleseed, campfires, s'mores and lying on your back at the end of the dock looking up at the stars.

We recognize that all of the things that have made the cabin so special to us over the years, are the same things that make for a strong marriage. The cabin is a place where you can be yourself. It is consistent and stable and always there for you. It's tradition. It's a place for fun and adventure, games and sharing...It's a place to go when you need to become grounded and reminded of who you are and where you came from. May your marriage be all of these things as well.

It's also a place of wonderful, abundant food. One of the staples that is present every time is----Cabin Toast. It is impossible to estimate how many slices of Cabin Toast we have shared together over the years. So let's raise a "Toast" that your life together will be filled with the pure and simple happiness that the cabin has brought to us over the years. Cheers!
