6 eggs
1 c & 2 T butter, very soft
2 T baking powder
4 ¼ c flour
Pinch salt
*For anise
2 t vanilla
1 t anise extract
1 1/2 T anise seeds, crushed *For chocolate
4 t Kaluha(coffee flavored liquor)
¼ c cocoa
6 oz. roasted almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter. Add eggs, one at a time, for a minute each. Add other ingredients. Mix only until completely combined. Form 4 loaves on parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. or until toothpick comes out clean. Let cool on racks. Slice, diagonally, into ¾ inch slices. Bake on their sides, 9-10 minutes, turn and bake additional 8-10 minutes. Cool on racks.
