2 cups sifted flour
4 t baking powder
½ t salt
½ t cream of tartar
2 t sugar
¼ c Crisco (solid shortening)
¼ c cold butter (or omit shortening and add 1/2 c butter)
2/3 c milk, cold


Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in Butter, and shortening if using. Add milk. Knead gently and roll out to 1/2 inch thick. Bake on ungraded baking sheet for 10-12 minutes at 450º.
