4 egg whites
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. flour
SAUCE:
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. maple syrup
8 oz. white chocolate chunks
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped onions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

To make the blondie cake, whip the egg whites until they are stiff and form peaks. Add butter, brown sugar, sugar and vanilla and mix with an electric mixer until smooth. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add the dry ingredients and mix well until smooth. Mix in milk, white chocolate chips and walnuts. Pour ingredients into a greased 9"x13" pan and bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until cake is golden.

While cake bakes, combine all ingredients for the sauce in a bowl with an electric mixer.

When cake is done remove from oven and let cool slightly. Cut into serving pieces, put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top and spoon some of the sauce on top of the ice cream. Serve.
