1/2 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 pkg. Vanilla Wafers, crushed

Icing:
3 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 cup icing sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. cream or milk
3/4 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a large pot over medium heat, melt butter, add brown sugar and egg. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
Remove from heat and add the vanilla and wafers. Mix quickly and pour into a greased 8 or 9" pan. Press firmly. Set aside.

In saucepan, melt 3 tbsp. butter. Remove and add the remaining ingredients and blend over medium heat. Continue to stir over medium heat until it starts to bubble then remove quickly and pour over the top of the squares. Place cherries on each square. Place in fridge until cool and set, then cut into squares.
