2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk

Frosting: 1/4 cup butter, 2 1/2 cups icing sugar, 3-4 tbsp. milk

Preheat oven 350ºF

Stir flour, baking powder, salt together gradually. Beat between additions. Add eggs one at a time. Beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Blend well. Pour into greased and floured 2 - 8" or 9" baking pans.

Bake at 350ºF for 30-35 minutes.

Frosting: Butter Cream
Cream butter, gradually add sifted icing sugar and milk alternatively. Add more icing sugar or milk if necessary. Flavour and colour as desired.
