CAKE:

½ cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs well beaten
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
2 cups flour
4 cups peeled and diced apple

OZARK TOPPING

½ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
½ cup butter
½ tsp. vanilla
½ cup heavy cream

Directions:

CAKE:

Cream the butter and sugar.
Add beaten eggs.
Separately mix cinnamon, salt, baking soda, flour.
Add dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mix well.
Add vanilla then alternately diced apple.
Pour into greased 13 x 9 pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
Test for doneness with toothpick.

TOPPING:

Combine ingredients in a sauce pan and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat.
Serve on warm or cooled cake.

Any white frosting is also good on this cake.
