Onions, 1/2 -3/4 of a pot about 10 -12
1/4 cup of cab. Cooking red wine
Beef stock or beef base, 2 qts of broth
Chicken stock or base, 2 qts of broth
Lipton, beefy onion soup mix
Salt and pepper

Directions:
Julienne onions, set on stove in lowest setting until they soften and caramelize
Add wine, stir
Add broths, stir
Add soup mix and let simmer for awhile 30-60 minutes.
Skim fat at it separates on the top.
Taste and adjust seasoning.

The longer you let the soup simmer, the better it is.
