1/3 cup uncooked white rice
1/3 cup sugar
1 qt. milk
1 cup raisins
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 apples, sliced thin
3 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
In a 1 1/2 quart shallow casserole, mix rice, sugar, milk, raisins, nutmeg and vanilla.
Bake in preheated slow oven (275º F), for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes. Remove from oven and top with apple slices. Sprinkle slices with sugar mixed with cinnamon.
Raise temperature to 350º F and bake for 30 minutes.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
