1 cup boiling water
1 cup dates or raisins
2 T cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup sugar
1 T butter
1 egg
1 cup nutmeats
1 1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Pour boiling water over dates or raisins. Add cocoa and soda. Let stand while you mix remaining ingredients together. Bake in 350º oven until done.
