1 cup flour
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 beaten egg
1 cup Sourdough Starter
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp. cooking oil
Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Combine egg, Starter, milk and oil; stir into flour mixture til combined. Using 2 tablespoons of batter for each pancake, bake on hot, lightly greased griddle til golden brown turning once.

Mama made pancakes for breakfast and even supper quite often. She didn't use mixes for anything in her younger years. She made everything from scratch. I still don't know what her secret was but everything she set her hand to was better than what any of her children or grandchildren have ever been able to duplicate. She definitely had a knack for goodness and perfection. We loved everything she cooked for us...well almost everything! There were a few dishes that didn't set very well with my taste buds and I still don't care for them. But that wasn't because they weren't good, I just never cared for sour things, like sour kraut. We had to eat them if she put them on the table and they were good for us, I'm sure. But we all enjoyed the pancakes!!
