1 1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup shortening
3 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup nutmeats


TOPPING:
1/3 cup orange juice
1 1/2 tsp. grated orange rind

Directions:
Mix ingredients together and drop onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 15-20 minutes. After cookies are baked, brush each cookie with topping.
