2 cup lard
8 oz. bitter chocolate squares
8 eggs, well beaten
4 cup sugar
4 tsp. vanilla
3 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 T salt
2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Grease 2 large cookie pans. Melt together lard and chocolate, mix by hand and let cool. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla to cooled chocolate mixture. Add remaining ingredients together and stir well. Spread on greased cookie sheets and bake at 350º till done (about 25-30 minute). When toothpick comes out clean it's a good test that it's done. There is no substitute for lard if you want the best tasting brownies ever!
