FOR THE FRENCH TOAST:
•1 loaf Texas toast bread (cut in quarters or pieces if desired)
•10 whole Eggs
•21/2 cups Milk
•3/4 cup Whipping (heavy) Cream
•3/4 cups Sugar
•2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract

• FOR THE PECANS
*1 cup chopped pecans
•3/4 cup All-purpose Flour
•3/4 cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
•1 teaspoon Cinnamon
•1/4 teaspoon Salt
•1 pinch Nutmeg (optional)
•11/2 stick Cold Butter, Cut Into Pieces

In a medium sized bowl mix together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, mix flour,chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.. Add butter pieces and cut them into the dry mixture until mixture resembles fine pebbles.

Butter a 13x9 pan and layer bottom with bread.
pour 1/2 egg mixture evenly over top and then put 1/2 pecan mixture on top. Add another layer bread, egg mixture, pecan.

Cover tightly and refrigerate .

When you're ready to bake the casserole, preheat oven to 350 F. Remove casserole from the fridge.Bake for 45 min. Longer if you like firmer texture..

Scoop out individual portions. Top with butter and drizzle with maple syrup.
