2 cups sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup peanut butter, smooth or crunchy
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup chopped nuts and or coconut, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, butter, cocoa, and milk in 2-quart saucepan; bring to a boil stirring occasionally.

Boil 2 minutes exactly. Remove from heat.

Add peanut butter and vanilla; mix well.

Add oats and nuts and or coconut, stirring thoroughly.

Working quickly, drop by teaspoonfulls onto waxed paper to set.

It is necessary to have all ingredients measured out and ready to add. Once the chocolate mixture has boiled for two minutes, them you need to work very quickly, or it will set up in the pan. If this happens, just scrape it out and use it as an ice cream topping or eat it with a spoon.
