1 1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup shortening
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour milk
3 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt

FROSTING:
powdered sugar
orange juice
orange rind

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs and sour milk. Mix well. Add dry ingredients. Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet and bake until edge of cookie is brown. Bake in 350º oven. While still warm, dip top of cookie in mixture of fresh squeezed orange juice sweetened to taste with a little sugar. Let dry.

Mix powdered sugar and add orange juice one spoonful at a time until thick enough to dribble on cookies as frosting. Add a dash of orange rind, if desired.
