2 cans tomato soup
2 big green peppers, cut up
1 quart milk
1/4 pound cheese cut-up
flour & water
saltine crackers

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and water.
While soup & milk is heating, add peppers. Do not let boil. Add cheese to taste. Let cook for about 15 minutes. Add flour and water to right thickness for crackers.

Translation: Mix some flour and water into a thickening agent. Heat soup and milk in a saucepan, stirring frequently. add peppers. Do not let boil. Cook for about 15 minutes. Add flour and water mixture, stirring until sauce consistency.

Serve over crumbled saltine crackers.

This is a depression era dish that Momsie served to stretch her food budget. It became a bit of a tradition during Bob & Trisha's childhood, although they never really liked it!
