2/3 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 12oz. package of chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening. Add sugars gradually to shortening.
Beat in eggs. Add vanilla.
Add flour mixed with salt and baking soda
Mix well. Stir in chips and nuts.
Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes or until a little brown on top
