2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates 1/2 c. maraschino cherries, drained and chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt. Blend together, creaming well, shortening, sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Blend in the dry ingredients and then add pecans, dates and cherries. Mix well.
Drop by rounded teaspoonful into 2 1/2 cups crushed corn flakes. Toss lightly to coat. Form into balls. Place on greased baking sheet. Top each with 1/4 cherry. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 375º
